About sound
Sixty thousand years of listening
Civilizations have been creating sounds since the beginning of time. The oldest musical instrument that we have found on earth is over 60,000 years old. Ancient cultures have used instruments and sound for rituals and also healing. In ancient China, sound healing was primarily practiced through the “six healing sounds” — a Taoist practitioner vocalized different sounds that correspond to different organs.
The quartz crystal singing bowls are relatively new to humanity and arrived around the 1960s. Quartz is composed of silicon dioxide. It is used in the most advanced semiconductor equipment — the basis of our technology depends on this mineral. It can amplify intention.
These bowls carry certain frequencies. These frequencies travel through our bodies, which are primarily made of water — and sound travels through water at rapid speeds. Through sympathetic resonance, where a vibration in one object causes another object to match its natural frequency, we settle into balance.
Dis-ease is a state where the body is out of balance. The bowls bring coherence: the state where all parts work harmoniously together. That is what happens when we relax and tap into the parasympathetic nervous system. We heal, and we create a harmonious atmosphere.
I love sharing these crystal bowls. In a time where life can be so fast and at times uneasy, these magical frequencies can take us home. I look forward to sharing them with you.
